ITINERARY

Day 00: Entebbe

Arrival and transfer to Kampala Serena Hotel

DAY 01: KAMPALA – JINJA (100KM)

Have an early start from your hotel and ride to Jinja. Ride around Jinja either jump off the bungee tower into the Nile, visit source of the Nile, Bujagali falls, explode up and down the Nile on a jet boat ,go horseback riding or go wild on the Nile with white water rafting. Dinner and overnight at Wild waters lodge a beautiful place in the middle of the river surrounded by waterfalls very expensive but worth every penny and an experience you shouldn’t miss. www.wild-uganda.com

DAY 02: JINJA – SIPI FALLS (198KM)

After having breakfast enjoy the ride from Jinja to Sipi falls in Kapchorwa. Have a stopover in the lively bustling market town of Mbale town to look at Bugisu architecture. You will then reach the three beautiful falls called the Sipi Falls on the foothills of the 4,321m high extinct volcano Mount Elgon, which in prehistoric times stood taller than Kilimanjaro. Climbing on nearby crags can be arranged, as can abseil descents of the main Sipi Falls. There are a variety of climbs to suit all standards, made up from 10 sport climbing routes bolted into the cliff face adjacent to Sipi Falls. Abseiling options range from ‘easy’ 25m descents all the way to the 100m waterfall descent. Robs Rolling Rock – a Ugandan company initially trained by Italian climbers – operates climbing and abseiling activities. Sipi River Lodge also provides CE approved climbing helmets for these activities free of charge. Dinner and overnight at Lacam Lodge.

DAY 03: SIPI FALLS – LIRA (240KM)

After an early breakfast proceed to Lira. Have a scenic ride through Soroti district Stop for a quick lunch on the way to Lira. Dinner and overnight at Lillian Towers Hotel.

DAY 04: LIRA – MURCHISON NP (190KM)

An early morning start from Lira begins the panoramic drive through Kamdini trading centre to Murchison Falls National Park. We stop for an early lunch at Masindi hotel where Humphrey Bogart, Katherine Hepburn lived during the filming of African Queen. Ernest Hemingway lived there during his visit to Uganda in 1954. When we get to the park proceed to the top of the falls where you can see the Nile perfected! Marvel at the Nile, compressing from 50 meters to squeeze through a 7 meters canyon dropping 40 meters with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful Rainbow, Plume of spray “the Murchison Falls” dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.

DAY 05: MURCHISON NP (20KM)

An early morning game drive, in search of lions, Buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, hartebeest, the rare shoebill stock, and many more. In the afternoon you will proceed for a three hours boat trip/lunch along the placid Victoria Nile up stream to the base of the falls. The boat stops just ten meters from the ‘Devils cauldron’. Take pictures of the majestic Murchison falls, it’s the photographer’s paradise and pleasure. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.

DAY 06: MURCHISON FALLS – FORT PORTAL (325KM)

After an early breakfast drive from Murchison to Fort Portal through the villages of Hoima, have the opportunity to interact with the local communities, dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge.

DAY 07: FORT PORTAL (50KM)

Early morning visit to Kibale forest for chimpanzee trekking. The forest also houses other primates like grey-cheeked mangabeys, baboons and velvet monkeys. Relax in the evening, dinner and over night at Ndali Lodge.

DAY 08: FORT PORTAL – ISHASHA (190KM)

Early morning drive from Fort portal to Ishasha, dinner and overnight at Ishasha Wilderness Camp.

DAY 09: ISHASHA – KISORO (140KM)

After breakfast enjoy an early morning game drive where you will find the rare tree climbing lions at the Ishasha section of Queen Elizabeth National park and other wildlife like leopards, elephants, cape buffalos, forest hogs, Uganda kobs, giant forest hogs, bush backs, water backs. Then after proceed to Bwindi Impenetratable Forest. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort.

DAY 10: KISORO (GORILLA TREKKING) (50KM)

Early morning your guides will brief you before you head into the dense forest on your search of the gorillas and an intimate interaction with these gentle and endangered animals. The forest also affords viewing of other primates including blue monkeys, L’oehst monkeys, red tailed monkeys and chimpanzee, along with a variety of bird life. The time spent trekking in this unspoiled tropical forest and watching the gorillas is certainly worth the effort. In the evening relax back at Gorilla Resort.

DAY 11: KISORO – KABALE (180KM)

Take boat ride with your picnic lunch visit the islands which make up Lake Bunyonyi, dinner and overnight at Arcadia.

DAY 12: KABALE – MBARARA / LAKE MBURO (180KM)

Depart from Lake Bunyonyi / Kabale and enjoy scenic journey through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape. An area referred as the “Switzerland of Africa enroute have lunch in mbarara and thereafter proceed to Lake Mburo national park the smallest in Uganda, in the afternoon enjoy a game drive in search of the beautiful impalas, zebras, cape buffalos, elands, oribi and topi. The park is a very good opportunity for bird watchers, who will enjoy more than 250 species of birds, found here, including Papyrus gonoleks, Brown-faced lapwings, Carruther’s cisticolas, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-faced Go-away bird. Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge.

DAY 13: LAKE MBURO – KAMPALA (260KM)

Early morning start from Lake Mburo to Kampala enroute have a short stopover at the Equator. Relax in Kampala then depart for the Airport.

What is included?

Excluded are:

Gorilla permits and Chimpanzee trekking permits, tips, beverages and anything of personal nature, flight tickets.

Please note that clients will be traveling in 4wheel drive vehicles, with enough legroom, with well-experienced guides who can handle all the requirements of the discerning traveler.
